Great Leadership Illuminating the Path of World Socialist Movement

The annals of the sacred struggle waged by the Workers’ Party of Korea are brilliant thanks to the immortal exploits made by the great leader of the Korean people President Kim Il Sung (1912-1994) who devoted his all for the build-up of the revolutionary Party and the victorious advance of the world socialist cause. Particularly his devotional efforts to lead the revolutionary parties to keep to the road of independence and socialism in the latter half of 80s and early 90s of the last century have been brilliantly written in the annals of the world socialist movement.
At the time mankind was in anxiety, suspense and frustrations on the destiny of socialism in the crossroad of socialism and capitalism.
He lost no time to encourage the revolutionary parties and people over the world in their struggle for socialism and lead them to victory.
   In July, 1991 he met a delegation of a European Communist Party, when he told them that the collapse of the East European socialist countries cannot be attributable to what they call the disadvantage of socialism compared to capitalism. Then he categorized the advantages of socialism to capitalism. He encouraged them with confidence saying that they have to reconstruct the socialist movement to counter the enemy. Giving them confidence he said: Cowards, go. Let us keep to the red flag.
He availed himself every opportunity to awaken them that the communist and workers’ parties aspiring after socialism had to hold to independence.
When he met the Chairman of the Communist Workers’ Party of Sweden in the end of June, 1992, he told him that in view of the historical lesson of the socialist movement it was very important to hold fast to independence in the struggle for socialism and every party had to advance along the road of socialism under the banner of independence.
When he met the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Belgium on June 30, 1994, he gave him valuable words worth a guideline in keeping to independence.
At the time the international situation was hard. The imperialists took advantage of the opportunity to stage a stronger reactionary offensive against the progressive forces.
The chairman thought that it is none other than President Kim Il Sung who could iron out this impasse and lead them invariably to the road of socialism and independence. Then he put everything aside to pay a visit to Korea.
In the talk President Kim Il Sung told: At present many people dare not abuse witnessing the Americans behave like an “international gendarme”. Some people are only eating crow while being held in contempt by Americans and hesitate to face imperialism for socialism in fear of them. We have to set ourselves firmly against imperialist nations. Although both the Workers’ Party of Belgium and the Workers’ Party of Korea are small, they steadfastly keep to independence. The smaller they are, the firmer the small nations unite to disallow the great power chauvinism and their high-handedness.
Therefore, the world socialist movement, inspired by his confident instructions for the revolutionary nations to hold to the independence and advance toward socialism could return to the march full of vigor tiding over ordeals.
Therefore, the progressive mankind is still praising President   Kim Il Sung as the outstanding leader of the cause of anti-imperialism and independence and regards the WPK, independent and ever-victorious in its over-70-year history, as a model revolutionary Party fighting for the independence of the people.

Great Statesman (3)

  A heart of a man can neither be won forcibly, bought with gold nor bound with chains. The world people as well as the Korean people vied to see him regarding him as a peerless outstanding man and great statesman and respecting him ardently.

    Kuno Jyuji, former Minister of Postal Service of the Tanaka cabinet and a parliamentarian from the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan, expressed his impression after meeting with great President Kim Il Sungduring the visit to the DPRK in 1972.

  “I have met many socialist as well as capitalist leaders. But I have never seen anyone who moves and excites my heart. Since a leader of a state would express in a talk his mind based on the national prestige of his own state, the talk is confined to a formality and his manner is usually fastidious and authoritative.

   …Across ages there had never been so far in the world such a man so simple, benevolent, broadminded and tender-hearted as President Kim Il Sung.”

   Kanemaru Shin expressed his luck of meeting great President Kim Il Sung and acquainting himself with a genuine popular statesman whom he and mankind so much longed for and who was possessed of such a noble humaneness.

   “My highest respect only goes to His Excellency Kim Il Sung!”

   Today under the leadership of respected Marshal Kim Jong Un who embodies intact his genuine humanity and high virtues and exercises his will intact the great sun of humanity illumines the world more brilliantly.

Great Statesman (2)

 

President Kim Il Sung had an unchangeable creed of life.

His great power of the love of people brought about a wonderful history of progress and efflorescence immeasurable with an ordinary time scale.

In all the time of the great change and creation he was always a benevolent father of the people.

Therefore, Japanese journalist Takaki Takeo, deeply admired for the close relationship between the leader and the people after participating in the New Year celebration of the students and children during his visit to Pyongyang in 1971, wrote in his travelogue:

“To be sure, he is a father. The children call him ‘Father Marshal!’Not only they but all call him the same way. The relationship between the father and his children is the same with the relationship between President Kim Il Sung and the people of this country.

It is a fusion of the warmest and most excellent comradely affection given by the President to the people and given by the people to him. I have been to many countries on business trips, but I have never seen such a political leader as him who greets the New Year with the children.”

Then, how is it that all the Korean people, young and old, call him affectionately their father and follow him?

Japanese social activist Ichigawa Makoto gives a clear answer to it:

“Frankly speaking, at first I could not understand fully the respect of the Korean people to President Kim Il Sung.

However, while meeting him personally and having a talk with him I was well aware of it. He was possessed of love and dignity overflowing like clear water flowing out of the ground.

The reality where the people enjoy a peaceful and happy life in his embrace makes them respect him as their fatherly leader.”

The struggle of the masses of the people for the cause of independence can only win when it is led by a great statesman.

Therefore, the mankind yearned for a genuine statesman. Then who is such a great statesman?

Prof. Kido Mataichi of the Souka University, Japan visited Pyongyang in 1976 and had an interview with President Kim Il Sung. He said:

“The worth of a genuine statesman and leader of a state lies in his high regard to a man and masses of the people and belief in their strength and his ability of enlisting it. Unfortunately I could not find such a leader of the people among the many I had met so far. However, I have had the honour of meeting President   Kim Il Sung who created the Juche idea and had the Juche-oriented leadership art. If somebody asks me now who is the most excellent among the statesmen and state leaders of the world, I would not hesitate to answer that he is none other than PresidentKim Il Sung.”

Kanemaru Sin, former Japanese Deputy Prime Minister and head of the delegation of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan who visited Pyongyang in 1990, said on a formal occasion:

“I had an opportunity of interviewing President Kim Il Sung during the recent visit to Korea. It was the greatest honour we had ever received. While listening to him, I heartily felt that a statesman had to have a political thinking as he had and learnt a great deal.”

 The Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK), the Juche Idea Study Group of England (JISGE) ,the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA) and the  UK Preparatory Committee For the 2017 Gathering to Praise the Great Persons Born of Mt Paektu issued a joint statement on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the foundation of the Association for the Restoration of the Fatherland by the great leader President Kim Il Sung  ;
   The Association For the Restoration of the Fatherland was  founded by the great leader President Kim Il Sung on May 5, Juche 25 (1936), was the first anti-Japanese national united front in Korea.Its foundation was a decisive turning point in the Korean people's struggle for national liberation.

    The Association For the Restoration of the Fatherland(ARF)  made great contributions to liberating Korea from Japan's colonial rule, as it helped rally the anti-Japanese forces of different social strata under the banner of patriotism and anti-imperialism  thus creating  the driving forces of the Korean revolution. 
   The ARF was the first steady anti-Japanese national united front organi­zation in Korea, an organization guided by a single programme and rules and under a unified organizational system. It was a mass organization and a powerful underground revolutionary organization, working to fully ensure the leadership of the leader and the Party over the broad patriotic forces all over the country.President Kim Il Sung formulated the 10 point programme of the ARF which represented the advanced line and idea of the anti-imperialist, anti-feudal democratic revolution.

   The ARF was firmly based on the worker-peasant alliance and on the leadership of the revolutionaries.It rejected  compromise and national reformism. It was firmly based on the Songun-based line of armed struggle .
  The founding of the ARF was the fruition of the Juche-oriented line  of the anti-Japanese national united front put forward by the great leader comrade  Kim Il Sung,which exemplified  the will of the Korean people to wage the struggle against the Japanese more vigorously on their own initiative and marking a historic occasion that gave rise to a new upsurge in the Korean revolution as a whole, based on the anti-Japanese armed struggle. 

    The ARF was an excellent example of a Juche-based united front and popular front which showed the way forward for the people of oppressed colonies to defeat imperialism and win independence. The Association For the Restoration of the Fatherland stands out as a model of an anti-imperialist, anti-fascist united front and popular front and its great achievements will shine forever !

WPK, Great Guide of Independence, Songun and Cause of Socialism

 

The Workers’ Party of Korea will soon meet for its 7^th Congress in Pyongyang, the capital city of socialist Korea.

The international community focuses its attention on the occasion of the forthcoming Congress to the WPK, a guiding force of the heroic Korean people who are creating eye-opening miracles and displaying their indomitable mettle.

The past 70 years’ course traversed by the WPK is a glorious journey in which it led the people along the road of independence, Songun and socialism.

The independence, Songun and socialism constitute the strategic line and banner of sure victory the WPK steadfastly has held to in the revolution and construction.

The WPK is a vanguard of revolution leading the people to the independence.

The tribulations and misfortune suffered by the Korean people in the past was not the fate of a small nation caused by the geopolitical position, but a tragic consequence brought about by the submission to the stronger and dependence on the foreign forces.

President Kim Il Sung(1912 - 1994), founder of socialist Korea, implanted the soul of the nation and spirit of independence from the first day of his launch to revolution in the mind of the Korean revolutionaries and people and awakened them with the truth of Juche all along that the master of the Korean revolution is the Korean people themselves and they had to build an independent and sovereign state relying on their own strength.   His wise leadership of arming the people with the spirit of independence afforded a fundamental source of power by which the people could build up a strong nation run through with the principle of Juche in ideology, independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in the national defense.

The WPK is an invincible Party leading the people along the unique road of Songun. Songun is a great force by which the people could build up a citadel of independence and peace on the land of Korea which was war-ridden in the past at the cross-road of competing great powers for supremacy.

The WPK has already established an independent defense industry and consolidated rapidly all-round defense capabilities by carrying out the line of developing the economy and defense simultaneously.

In the historic plenary meeting of its Central Committee in March, 2013 it put forth a strategic line of building up the economy and the nuclear arms simultaneously to set a milestone to build a strong nation.

Since it held fast to the principle of attaching importance to the arms and military affairs, Korea, which fought the nuclear-armed formidable enemy with rifles in the last war, now grew to the great Paektusan nation possessed of nuclear weapons and satellites. The credit of proud tradition of heroic Korea which brought the US imperialists boasting of the world “mightiest” to submission to date since the 50s of the last century goes to the Songun leadership of the WPK.

The WPK is a prestigious Party leading the people convincingly along the untrodden path of socialism.

It expounded in a unique way the scientific accuracy and truthfulness of socialism with the masses of people at the centre. Under the wise leadership of the WPK opening up and guiding the people-centered socialist cause the most advanced social system was established in Korea where the masses of people are masters of all and everything serves for them and the society develops on the strength of the unity of the people. Even at the time of crisis of the country it exercised invariably the socialist policies including the free compulsory education and free medical care for the sake of the people and developed them further.

There are still many things wanted and difficult in socialist Korea. However, bright is the prospect of Korean-style socialism for which all the people united single-heartedly behind the WPK are marching forward to bring into reality the far-reaching goals and ideals.

      Today the WPK is further displaying its invincible might because it is led by Marshal Kim Jong Un.

 

PUBLIC STATEMENT ON THE FORMATION OF THE EUROPEAN REGIONAL PREPARATORY COMMITTEE FOR THE GRAND MEETING 2017 IN PRAISE OF THE GREAT PERSONS OF MT. PAEKTU

The coming year 2017 marks the 105th birthday of President Kim Il Sung, the 75th birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il and the 5th anniversary of the election of His Excellency Kim Jong Un as First Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and as First Chairman of the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

These anniversaries will be celebrated colourfully by all people around the world who support the just cause of the Korean people.

The achievements of the Great Persons of Mt. Paektu will illuminate the Korean people's and progressive mankind's path for ever.

President Kim Il Sung created the great Juche idea and pioneered a new era of independence for human emancipation. He liberated Korea from the brutal colonial yoke of Japanese imperialism and founded the DPRK, thereby making the Korean people an independent and mighty revolutionary people, and led the Korean People's Army (KPA) to the historic victory in the Fatherland Liberation War. Following his creed The People are my God, he guided the construction of socialist Korea, an independent socialist state centred on the masses.

The great leader General Kim Jong Il proclaimed the Songun policy as the political mode of socialist Korea. He made extraordinary achievements in leading the work of socialist construction over several decades, laying firm foundations for a powerful and thriving socialist country of Juche based firmly on the idea of self-development. Thanks to the Songun policy and his leadership, the DPRK became a space nation and a  nation with militarily capacity to deter any imperialist warmongers.

First Secretary Kim Jong Un is now leading the DPRK into a world class political, ideological, military and economic power, fulfilling the behests and instructions of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il for the building of a thriving socialist nation.

The great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il worked heart and soul for national reunification and everlasting peace in Korea. First Secretary Kim Jong Un is loyally continuing their struggle for this highest goal of the Korean people. They opened an era of independence and guided the cause of freedom and happiness of the people and for national reunification, peace and prosperity of mankind.

For these immortal achievements they are held in highest esteem as the Great Persons of Mt. Paektu.

Last October, representatives of organizations formed in different countries of the world for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people met in Pyongyang and appealed to the world progressive people to have a grand international gathering on Mt. Paektu, the spirit and symbol of Korea, in the year 2017 in praise of these great men.

We, who are active in supporting the just cause of the Korean people in the European Region, warmly welcome the proposed convocation of the "Grand Meeting 2017 in Praise of the Great Persons of Mt. Paektu" and are pleased to inform the world progressive people that the European Regional Preparatory Committee for the Grand Meeting 2017 in Praise of the Great Persons of Mt. Paektu has been formed with prominent personalities in the political and public circles in order to speed up its preparations vigorously and elevate a festive mood for the 105th birthday of President Kim Il Sung, the 75th birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il and the 5th anniversary of the election of the leader Kim Jong Un to the top posts of party, army, and state from this year on.

The European Regional Preparatory Committee will coordinate various activities like seminars, memorial meetings, cultural performances and film shows in different countries of the region.

The European Regional Preparatory Committee will inform the population of the countries of the region about the brilliant achievements, great lives and noble personalities of President Kim Il Sung, His Excellency Kim Jong Il and His Excellency Kim Jong Un as well as about the reality of Korea.

The Committee will also mobilize the peoples in the respective countries to actively support the Korean people's just cause for independent reunification and for peace on the Korean peninsula. It will counter the wrong image that the US-manipulated media are spreading about the DPRK. It will defend vigorously and energetically socialist Korea against the hostile forces' slanderous propaganda and reactionary anti-DPRK campaigns.

We will appeal all European organizations for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people to form national preparatory committees for the Day of Sun and the Day of Shining Star of 2017 in order to celebrate in festive mood the birthdays of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il and giving publicity to the achievements of the great leadership of First Secretary Kim Jong Un who is brilliantly succeeding to their cause.

The 7th Congress of the WPK which will soon be convened will widely open the door to a rosy future of Korea and a golden age in building a thriving nation.

In this context we will give a large publicity about the results of the 7th Congress of the WPK. The Congress is a further brilliant historic event and great milestone of the Songun revolution.
We will hold President Kim Il Sung and General secretary Kim Jong Il eternally in highest esteem and praise His Excellency Kim Jong Un as the great successor to their cause.

Establishing fundamental principles of reunification

President Kim Il Sung put forward the three principles of national reunification when inter-Korean high-level political talks was held in Pyongyang in May, 1972.  

On May 3, the President had conversation with the south Korean delegate who is on a visit to Pyongyang to take part in the high-level political talks between the north and the south of Korea.

If we fail to reunify the country as soon as possible and allow national division to continue, our nation may become a plaything of the great powers and be divided into two forever and we should reunify the country as soon as possible and hand over a unified country to posterity, said the President to the south Korean delegate.

He continued that in order to reunify the country, it is necessary to establish the fundamental principles correctly, which can provide the basis for the solution of the reunification question, only when there are fundamental principles agreed upon by the north and the south, can the two sides make joint efforts for reunification and successfully solve all problems concerning it.

He stressed that reunification question should on all accounts be settled independently without foreign interference and peacefully on the principle of promoting great national unity.

At the day, he spoke logically the essential content and justness of the three principles of national reunification he had matured one after another.

Enchanted with his personality, the south Korean delegate was greatly moved by instructions of the President fraught with logicalness and patriotism.

The south Korean delegate affirmed he positively support the three principles and maybe the south Korean chief executive would give his approval to it. He gave his word that he would regard the three principles as a pillar of reunification.

The three principles of independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity is a precious fruition of tireless efforts and convincing will of independent reunification of the President who made indefatigable energies to hand down a reunified country to the Korean nation. 

The July 4 Joint Statement was published in July, 1972. Its main content is the three principles of national reunification-independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity. It is a grand program of reunification common to the nation agreed between the north and the south of Korea.

On the day the Korean people exclaimed that it is a new turning point in putting an end to tragedy of division and hastening the cause of national reunification, the dawn of Korea’s reunification and a mammoth stride of independent reunification.

Thanks to the President’s three principles of national reunification, the Korean nation could expedite the movement for reunification, pushing aside myriad of difficulties. The Korean nation brought about miraculous reality of the June 15 reunification era during which the both sides witnessed unprecedented successes in inter-Korean relations.
