The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK (ASSPUK) , the Juche Idea Study Group of England(JISGE), the UK Korean Friendship Association (UK KFA )  , the UK Preparatory Committee for the 2017 Gathering for Praising the great persons of Mt Paektu and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification in Korea (BSCPRKP) issued a joint statement on the 64th anniversary of the victory of the Korean people , led by the great leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung , in the great Fatherland Liberation War against the US imperialists;
    July 27th is the second day of liberation for the Korean people .As they say July follows June  meaning that although the US imperialists started the war in June 1950 , they  admitted their defeat in July 1953.It is an inspiration not only for the Korean people but for Juche idea followers, Songun idea followers and anti-imperialist fighters the world over so July 27th is celebrated across the globe from Bogotá to Belfast !
  Dear respected Chairman Kim Jong Un said "Our July 27 is the second Day of Liberation when our people defended with honour their country's dignity and sovereignty from the brigandish aggression by the U.S. imperialists, and also the day of proud victors that put the U.S. imperialists, who were recklessly attempting to gain hegemony in the world and enslave it, on a downhill march towards ruin."
                                         

  The heroic and glorious KPA commanded by the great leader Marshal Kim Il Sung tore the guts out of US imperialism.The US imperialists lost over : 1,567,128 men including 405,498 US soldiers, 1,130,965 south Korean puppet troops, and 30,665 soldiers of their satellite states were killed, wounded or captured; 12,224 airplanes includ­ing "air fortress B-29" were downed, damaged or captured, 7,695 guns, 3,255 233 tanks and armoured cars were lost; and 564 warships and vessels including the heavy cruiser Baltimore and the flagship of the Seventh Fleet Missouri were sunk or damaged. The loss suffered by the US imperialists was nearly 2.3 times greater than what they had suffered in the four years of the Pacific War during World War II. Even official US statistics showed during each of the three years of the Korean war they lost double the troops for each year of the Vietnam war.
    US general Mark Clark lamented mournfully that he was the first US commander to conclude an armistice without a victory .
   The Fatherland Liberation War of the Korean people was an unequal battle as the US imperialists threw in huge armed forces plus the troops of 15 of their satellite countries as well the Japanese militarists not too mention the south Korean puppets. The US imperialists used barbaric methods of warfare exceeding those of the Hitlerlite Nazis. They used germ and chemical warfare and carried out horrendous massacres. All these failed to subdue the Korean people who under the wise leadership of the great revolutionary leader Marshal Kim Il Sung achieved a great victory. The forces of the heroic KPA defeated the so called "Invincible US 24th Division", taking its commander General Dean prisoner. Dean was the first US general to be captured by an opposing side. The KPA turned Height 1211 into a hill of heartbreak for the US imperialist aggressors.
   The KPA and Korean people fought in the revolutionary spirit of self- reliance based on the Juche Idea.The great revolutionary leader Marshal Kim Il Sung stated“We must solve our problems no matter who is helping us and what help we get......Victory must be won by our strength” " It was their efforts that were primary in defeating the US imperialist aggressors.
   In the Fatherland Liberation War commanded by the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung ,the reactionary bourgeois military theory was smashed by the Juche- orientated revolutionary military strategy and theory. Generalissimo Kim Il Sung continually stressed that the outcome of war is not determined by weapons or technology but by those who wield the weapons. The Fatherland Liberation War was a burning crucible of Songun. The victory of the Korean people led by the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung shattered  revisionist and pacifist theories about peaceful co-existence and 'non-violence'
 The Korean People's Army commanded by the great leader generalissimo Kim Il Sung was a true people's army, an army of justice and liberation. It assisted  the people . A strong spirit of Army-People unity prevailed throughout  society. Summing up the significance of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War. The great revolutionary leader Marshal  Kim Il Sung said
"In this great struggle our people fought determinedly as one in mind under the correct leadership of the party and government and thereby withstood the harsh trials of war honourably and won a historic victory inflicting an ignominious defeat on US imperialism and its running dogs"
The great leader comrade Kim Jong Il said
 "It was a great revolutionary war of worldwide significance, a war in which our people defended their motherland and inflicted the first-ever defeat on US imperialism, the ringleader of world imperialism, by waging a national, heroic struggle."
 Dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un said that the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War " was a military miracle unprecedented in the war history of mankind and a great feat of historical significance never seen before in the nation's history spanning 5 000 years."
       The Fatherland Liberation War ended in victory due to the Juche orientated military tactics, Juche-orientated military thought and Songun revolutionary leadership of the great leader supreme commander generalissimo Kim Il Sung and the sublime heroism of the KPA. The myth of US invincibility was smashed to smithereens in the Fatherland Liberation War.  The victory in the Fatherland Liberation War inspired national liberation and revolutionary movements all over the world to struggle against the colonial system of the US-led imperialists bringing about an era of decline for  US imperialism  an era of anti -imperialism . US imperialism's defeat in Korea preceded its defeat in Vietnam and elsewhere. The Korean people's victory in the Fatherland liberation war was a great contribution to the world revolutionary movement as it showed that US imperialism could be stopped in its tracks and beaten.                    
   Glory to the Korean people and the KPA on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War against the US imperialists. We are convinced that led by dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, another ever victorious brilliant commander of Mt Paektu, there will be a 2nd and a 3rd July27th and the Korean people will win final victory ,reunifying the country !Glory to the ever-victorious Korean people!

Today ,the 20th of July ,is the 67th anniversary of the liberation of Taejon by the Korean People's Army(KPA) under the command of the great leader generalissimo KIM IL SUNG. It was in this battle that the troops of the Korean Peoples Army smashed the so-called 'invincible' US Army 24th division  which had been regarded as one of the most advanced divisions of the US army and had been victorious in battles against Japanese forces during the second world .
The KPA encircled the US imperialist forces unique Juche-based adroit tactics worked out by the great leader generalissimo KIM IL SUNG who had accumulated great experience in the 15 year long armed struggle against Japanese imperialism !
 General William F  Dean the  commander of the 24th division  was taken prisoner by a young KPA soldier. Dean's general's stars are still in the DPRK Fatherland Liberation War Museum. Thus the US 24th Division tasted a bitter defeat, in fact disaster at Taejon.
 During this period of the Fatherland Liberation War the KPA fought solely on its own without outside assistance.
 It was a victory for the revolutionary Juche-orientated military tactics  and the Songun-based revolutionary military leadership of the great leader generalissimo KIM IL SUNG.

Ever-victorious iron-willed Marshal of Juche !-special article by Dr Dermot Hudson to mark the 5th anniversary of the award of the title of Marshal to dear respected comrade KIM JONG UN

                                         

On the 17th of July it will be 5 years since the Workers' Party of Korea and Korean people awarded dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN the title of Marshal . This was not a symbolic act but an act of great significance .Since July 2012 the Korean people have travelled an ever-victorious road .
Juche Korea, led by the dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN , and the Korean people have scaled great peaks on the road of Juche and broken through all sorts of barriers and roadblocks that were erected by the enemies of Korea, the enemies of Juche . Now Juche Korea is rushing through the final gate of a powerful nuclear state , the US imperialists and other imperialists are powerless to stop it even though the fascist Trump declared pompously that it 'would not happen' . Now all Trump can do is to jump up and down in impotent rage , threatening more useless and irrelevant UNSC sanctions , what an idiot ! Under the banner of Songun , the spirit of the self-development first and the Songun revolutionary leadership of great , dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN the nuclear advance of the DPRK is unstoppable and nothing the US imperialists or their marionette UNSC nor the big power chauvinists of Russia and China .
                                 

   The award of the title of Marshal to dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN was not a symbolic or ceremonial gesture but actually placed dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN at the helm of the
Songun revolution  in order to continue the Songun revolutionary leadership of the great leaders generalissimo's KIM IL SUNG and KIM JONG IL . Moreover it meant that respected comrade KIM JONG UN became of the head of the revolutionary armed forces of the People's Korea which stand in direct confrontation with US imperialism and world imperialism . Korea is the flashpoint of tensions where imperialism and socialism stand with guns levelled at each other. By becoming Marshal of the DPRK ,dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN not only assumed responsibility for the defence of the independence and sovereignty of People's Korea but for the destiny of world socialism as today the DPRK stands single-handedly as the fortress of socialism ,anti-imperialism and independence facing down the might of US and world imperialism.
                          
  Since becoming Marshal five years ago dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN has discharged his
responsibility as the successor the Songun revolutionary cause and  the head of the revolutionary armed forces of People's Korea with credit and honour !
   When the DPRK faced overwhelming threats from the swaggering and arrogant Yankee imperialists dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN took decisive and resolute measures to repel then. In March 2013 he declared that the rockets of the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK were ready to destroy the US imperialists should they be foolish enough to mount an attack on the DPRK. In August 2015 when the US imperialists and south Korean puppets had created a most tense situation over the pretext of the 'landmine explosion incident' case , he put the DPRK armed forces
on a semi-war state causing the south Korean puppets and US imperialists to back down.
   Dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN declared on the 25th of August 2012  "Counter provocations with an immediate counteroffensive, and an aggressive war with a war of justice for the country’s reunification–this is our principled stand and unshakable will.
We will never remain onlookers to the enemy’s desperate moves for aggression; we will do all we can to defend the destiny of the country and nation.
It is a truth confirmed by history that nobody in the world can check the advance of a people who have turned out for their cause of justice.
If another undesirable war breaks out on this land as a consequence of the unpardonable actions of the United States and its south Korean puppets, they will sustain an ignominious defeat in the war and our great nation will greet a bright dawn of their reunification.'
  Such a strong, revolutionary , militant and anti-imperialist declaration  that deals a great blow to the
'peaceful co-existence ' theories of modern revisionism and those forces that collaborate with imperialism invoking 'peace' as a justification.
 Dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN was never afraid to visit frontline units of the Korean People's Army and made many visit to far flung outposts of the KPA such as those in the West Sea
and also Panmunjom. These visits sent shivers down the spines of the US imperialists.
   Declaring that '"However fair-minded and just we are, we may become a bargaining chip for the strong and our precious history inherited with blood will lose  its shine in a moment if we are weak" dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN  took bold and decisive measures to bolster the
self-defensive capabilities of People's Korea many times over . He implemented the twin line of
building the economy and nuclear force in parallel, a brilliant revolutionary line without parallel in the world . Under the leadership of dear respected Marshal KIM  JONG UN ,the DPRK has carried
out 3 nuclear tests including the test of the DPRK's first H  bomb as well as a nuclear warhead. Undoubtedly the crowning glory has been the successful test of the Hwasong -14 Intercontinental
Ballistic Missile .Previously the US imperialists used to scoff and laugh about the DPRK's missile
capability but now they cannot sleep at night being totally seized with fear.
   Dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN  has declared that the DPRK's nukes and missiles are not negotiable unless the US ends once and for all its hostile policy towards the DPRK and packs its bags and leaves the land of Korea for good  as no one wants the Yanks in Korea ! In the past the Soviet revisionists capitulated after 5 days in the Cuba Missile crisis but respected Marshal KIM JONG UN
who is a great anti-revisionist and great anti-imperialist will fight on until final and total victory .
  The five years since dear respected comrade KIM JONG UN have been years of victory and glory for the cause of Juche-based and Songun-based defence upbuilding . Dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN is an ever-victorious iron-willed Marshal of Juche .Only victory and glory are in store for the Korean people under his leadership !

Generalissimo KIM IL SUNG resolute ,triumphant , all-conquering and incomparable commander and military strategist of Juche-special article commemorating the 23rd anniversary of the passing away of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG and the 64th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War

                                                      

In the DPRK they say July follows June meaning which means that although the US imperialists started the Fatherland Liberation War (known as Korean war in the West) on June 25 1950 it ended with the victory of the Korean people on July 27 1953. The Fatherland Liberation War was a truly herculean and titanic struggle which saw the Korean people defeat US imperialism for the first time in the world .
 When the war broke out on the 25 June 1950 , the odds against young People's Korea surviving let alone defeating US imperialism seemed very slim indeed because the US had a population  more than 20 times the size of the DPRK's and nearly 100 times the size of the DPRK in terms of landmass. Moreover the US had waged over a 100 wars of aggression and had emerged as the victor in the Second World War . As part of the allied forces  the US had seen off Imperial Japan , Nazi Germany and fascist Italy.  The US had emerged as the boss of US imperialism . It had a huge military machine and a global empire of military bases across the world .On top of this  the DPRK  not only to had to fight against the US but also the forces of the south Korean puppets , armies from 15 satellite countries of the US and the Japanese fighting secretly in Korea wearing the uniforms of the south Korean puppet army .
                     

 How could a small country like People's Korea fight against the US and its puppets and vassals ? The answer was in the powerful revolutionary leadership of Marshal KIM IL SUNG , the  Juche idea and the Songun idea as well as the heroic self-sacrificing spirit of the Korean people and the young Korean People's Army.
  On the 25th June at dawn guns boomed and jets of flame shot out . The south Korean puppets intruded several kilometres deep into the territory of People' Korea. The south Korean puppet army, under the direct command of the US Miltary Advisory Group , had  launched an armed invasion all along the 38th par­allel on a preconceived war plan.The south Korean puppets started their  aggression against the Republic over the whole length of the 38th parallel, intruding one-two kilome­tres deep in the directions of Haeju, Kumchon and Cholwon. The south Korean puppets bragged their radio
they had captured Haeju(which categorically disproves the account of US, Western and south Korean historians the  DPRK attacked first) . The destiny of the DPRK was hanging in the balance , what could it do against the onslaught of the south Korean puppets who were backed by the biggest military power in history ?  The great leader Marshal KIM IL SUNG  called meeting of the Cabinet of the DPRK and  demanded that the south Korean puppets stop their aggression at once . The south
Korean puppets refused to do so . So the great leader Marshal KIM IL SUNG ,declaring that the Yankees had misjudged the Koreans, ordered the Korean People's Army and Korean Peoples Security Forces to go over to an immediate counter-offensive.
   Thus the KPA and KPSF went over to an immediate counter-offensive  pushing the south Korean puppets back .This was something unprecedented in the history of warfare! . Generally when a state is attacked or invaded by another state it takes some time to even adopt a defensive posture to resist the aggression. However thanks to the original Juche-orientated revolutionary military thought and strategy the forces of the DPRK were able to launch a decisive counter-offensive after halting the south Korean puppets in their tracks and allowing them no breathing space.
    The great leader Marshal KIM IL SUNG had accumulated precious experience during the 15 year long armed struggle against the Japanese imperialists. He developed original Juche-orientated military tactics , the like of which had never been seen before.
  On the third day of the war , 28 June, Seoul the south Korean puppet capital was liberated by the  KPA .This was disastrous for the south Koean puppets who had orgininally boasted of "having breakfast in Haeju, lunch in Pyongyang and dinner in Sinuiju" . This had not happened , instead the victorious DPRK wiped out the south Korean puppet forces and liberated south Korea,. The hated colonial reactionary ruling machines were smashed and land was distributed to the peasants free of charge. The US started to heavily bomb all of Korea and drew  into the war forces from some satellite countries. This did not stop the advance of the Juche-orientated Korean People's Army commanded by the great leader Marshal KIM IL SUNG. The KPA smashed the Yankees at Osan .Torpedo boats of the KPA Navy sunk US cruisers and destroyers.
                                         

  The great leader Marshal KIM IL SUNG personally commanded the Taejon liberation battle.I. The U.S. 24th division was totally destroyed in the Taejon battle on July 20, that was the 20th day after its arrival in south Korea. A  young People's Army  took prisoner Dean himself. He was the first

division commander of U.S. imperialist aggression forces to be taken prisoner in the Korean War. This was a a great feat of the heroic Korean People's Army to have captured a Yankee general

 In the first stage of the war the Korean People's Army liberated 90 per cent of the territory of south Korea and 92 of the population . A truly remarkable accomplishment that was achieved by the self-reliant revolutionary armed forces of People's Korea under the command of the great leader

Marshal KIM IL SUNG .

  The US threw into the war unprecedented numbers of troops and amounts of materials . The war raged on until July 27th 1953 when the US kneeled down and signed the Armistice  Agreement.

Clark, the US commander  who signed the Armistice Agreement  lamented his fate as the first U.S. Forces commander who failed to win victory and signed the armistice agreement During the three-year long Fatherland Liberation War, the U.S. imperialists lost over 1,567,000 men, including more than 405,000 of their own armed forces, and an enormous amount of combat equipment and war supplies, including over 12,200 aircraft, more than 560 warships and ships, over 3,200 tanks and

armoured vehicles of different types, more than 13,350 trucks and 7,690 artillery pieces of various types. This is only part of the bitter setbacks suffered by them in the war. They also suffered irretrievable political and moral defeats. It was a great victory for the Korean people and opened up a new era of anti-US, anti-imperialist struggle. Indeed Korea was the war before Vietnam !

   The victory in the Fatherland Liberation War was due to the outstanding an brilliant commanding art of the great leader Generalissimo KIM IL SUNG , a military strategic genius and ever-victorious iron-willed brilliant commander. On the 23rd anniversary of the passing away of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG and the 64th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation we recall the great exploits of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG in leading the Fatherland Liberation War to victory !

President Kim Il Sung, Great Sun of the World People

105 years ago on the 15th of April 1912 in Mangyondae, Korea the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG  was born. He authored the Juche Idea which is the torch of human independence and was the founder of People's Korea. He was an ever-victorious iron-willed brilliant commander, gifted military strategist, architect of socialist construction and one of the outstanding leaders of the international communist and revolutionary movement.

The respected leader comrade Kim Il Sung whom the Korean and world people hold in high esteem is revered today as the greatest leader of the working class who with extraordinary wisdom, outstanding ability of leadership and lofty communist virtues, has been devoting all his life to the sacred cause of the revolution for the independence of the working masses.

During the long period since he embarked on the road of revolution at an early age, the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung led the extremely arduous and complex Korean revolution to victory, treading a previously untrodden path   thus making a great contribution to the world revolution. The great leader President Kim Il Sung was always an internationalist and considered the Korean revolution to be an integral part of the world revolution and that the Korean communists  to be a steel-like vanguard detachment of the international communist movement.

Although he was born Kim Song Ju originally his comrades first named him  Han Byol meaning  morning star . Later his comrades called him Il Sung meaning future sun. Indeed the great leader President Kim Il Sung became the sun of the Korean people but also the sun of the world people.

The Juche idea the guiding compass of independence was authored by the great leader President Kim Il Sung during the years of the anti-Japanese armed struggle. Today the Juche Idea is studied all over the world with over a 1,000 groups for the study of the Juche Idea the first one was  formed in Mali, west Africa in 1969. A World Congress on the Juche Idea was held in April 2012 and was attended by over 300 delegates including our own delegation from the Juche Idea Study Group of England.

Visiting the Tower of the Juche Idea which has pride of place on the riverside of the River Taedong one could really see that the Juche Idea towers above all other ideologies. Looking at the 170 metre high tower I got an overwhelming sense of the absolute truth of Juche, that it is the ideology that everyone should follow. The imperialists and reactionaries oppose the Juche Idea but its attraction is growing stronger and stronger even though the enemy does everything to obstruct the study of the Juche Idea.

Based on the great Juche idea People's Korea, founded by the great leader President KIM IL SUNG , became a powerful state of Juche in ideology, independence in politics, self-sufficiency in the economy and self-reliance in national. The DPRK is known is the most independent nation on the face of the planet , this is thanks to Juche and thanks to the leadership of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG which is today carried forward by the dear respected leader  Marshal KIM JONG UN who has put forward the great self-development first idea.

I have visited the International Friendship Exhibition in the Scenic Mt Myohyang several times .It would take many days if not weeks or even months  to see the whole exhibition. Here I learnt of the deep reverence of the world revolutionary and progressive people for the great revolutionary leader President KIM IL SUNG who was the great elder of the international communist and working class movement.

President KIM IL SUNG received gifts large and small from the heads of socialist countries and the communist and workers parties. Probably the largest gifts were the trains sent by J V Stalin and Chairman Mao Zedong of China.

There are some 36,000 gifts sent to the great Leader comrade KIM IL SUNG by different people throughout the world, everyone from humble workers to state and party leaders has gifts exhibited there. You will see the train sent by Chairman Mao Zedong of Peoples China and the bullet proof car sent by Stalin as well gifts from the likes of Fidel Castro, Daniel Ortega, Col Qaddafi, Yasser Arafat, Sukarno and Allende. and many others. We also saw the gifts that we had presented to the great leader President KIM IL SUNG in 1994. The thousands of gifts do not represent mere diplomacy but reflect the deep and massive respect of the world people for the great leader President KIM IL SUNG.

The great leader President KIM IL SUNG was venerated by numerous revolutionary figures of the world for example the late President Fidel Castro of Cuba said  as follows Comrade Kim Il Sung is one of the most distinguished, outstanding and heroic socialist leaders of the present world. His history is one of the most beautiful histories of a revolutionary serving the cause of socialism.

Chairman Mao Ze Dong of China said "The fate of the world revolution and the international communist movement are on your shoulders, Comrade Kim Il Sung. I wish you long life and good health. This is my last wish".

The world people look up to the great leader President KIM IL SUNG with deep respect, they look upon him as the sun . Glory to the eternal Red sun of Juche , great President KIM IL SUNG!***

the Great Leader President KIM IL SUNG fought for Peace in Korea and for World Peace

The actual situation on the Korean Peninsula is extremely explosive and near to a war due to the warmongering and nuclear blackmail of the US imperialists against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

They find fault with the self-defensive nuclear and missile programme of the DPRK and recklessly speak about a "military option".

The imperialists and reactionaries slander the DPRK with nonsensical accusations like "threat to world peace". But the DPRK is a peace-loving country.

Remember that the great Leader President Kim Il Sung, whose 105th birthday anniversary we celebrated on the past April 15 and to whom this E-Seminar is dedicated, presented to the 3rd Session of the 5th Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK in March Juche 63 (1974) the historic proposal to conclude a peace treaty between the DPRK and the US, and sent a respective letter to the US Congress. This proposal of President Kim Il Sung was enthusiastically hailed and supported by all Koreans in the north, the south and abroad as well as by the peace-loving and progressive mankind. A peace treaty should replace the fragile and instable Armistice Agreement and establish a durable peace mechanism on the Korean Peninsula. It was also President Kim Il Sung who proposed to make the Korean Peninsula a nuclear-free zone. Both proposals for peace and denuclearisation are still valid and will always be the principled stand of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the DPRK government. In the early 1990s, when the US imperialists intensified their pressure and nuclear threat against the DPRK and prepared a war under the false pretext of the "north Korean nuclear programme", President Kim Il Sung looked for a peaceful solution of the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula. President Kim Il Sung met the former US president Jimmy Carter in June Juche 83 (1994) and explained to him the DPRK's firm position not to accept sanctions from the US. President Kim Il Sung's firm stand forced the US to cancel their plans for sanctions against the DPRK. Returning from Pyongyang, Carter was overwhelmed by Kim Il Sung's noble personality, virtues and love for peace and justice and praised him as a "great man greater as the American presidents Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln together". Only some days later - on July 8, Juche 83 (1994) - the great and noble heart of President Kim Il Sung stopped to beat forever. Thanks to President Kim Il Sung's rock-firm stand and his Songun politics of military strength and self-defence, a war could be prevented and peace was safeguarded. The framework agreement DPRK-US on the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula concluded in October 1994 in Geneva was the great and historic victory of the peace-loving positions and Songun politics of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

The great President Kim Il Sung also fought untiringly for world peace and global independence.

He met many foreign heads of state, prominent figures and progressive people from all continents and explained to them the DPRK's principled positions on international issues.
Not to forget are his struggle for Korea's independent and peaceful reunification. Even on July 7, Juche 83 (1994) - only one day before the end of his glorious life - he signed a document related to the high priority of national reunification. This last signature of President Kim Il Sung can be seen on the revolutionary site in the truth-village of Panmunjom and remembers eternally all coming generations on his struggle for reunification and peace.

The nuclear force of the DPRK, built by Generalissimo Kim Jong Il and developed and strengthened today by the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, serves to prevent a new war of aggression of the US imperialists and to safeguard peace on the Korean Peninsula as it is the legacy of President Kim Il Sung's glorious life.

The great Leader President Kim Il Sung was a noble and inflexible fighter for reunification and for peace on the Korean Peninsula and for world peace.

PRESIDENT KIM IL SUNG AND BRITAIN - Juche idea authored by the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG lights the road of independence for the British people ! special article by Dr Dermot Hudson

                                  

As we approach the highly significant 105th anniversary of the birth of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG it is important to reflect on the relevance of his teachings and ideas to Britain. How are the ideas the ideas of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG applicable to Britain ?

   Firstly , the great Juche idea is applicable to Britain as teaches that every country and every people should be independent and masters of their own destiny.  The Juche idea is expressed in practical  terms as Juche in ideology , independence in politics  and self-reliant in defence . These are policies that a new progressive government could and should implement .Although Britain is an imperialist country still ,at the same time is deeply subordinate to US imperialism and pursues the so-called 

special relationship . A new regime in Britain could apply Juche by leaving NATO and kicking out 

US troops . This would be a basic prerequisite to achieving independence in politics. The great leader President KIM IL SUNG understood the need for capitalist countries to be independent saying that

 "Our is an era when the people demand independence.Today even the people of the capitalist countries to say nothing of the socialist countries, want to take the road of independence,and ,especially the people of the third world who were exploited and oppressed by the imperialists over a long period are advancing under the uplifted banner of independence"

  Thus President KIM IL SUNG showed the way for the people's of the capitalist countries, socialist countries and third world countries to independence. Indeed the Juche idea reflects the aspirations of the peoples of all countries for independence this is an undeniable fact.

    To establish Juche and achieve both political and economic independence the UK would need to 

 break with international capitalism and imperialism by leaving the EU plus the IMF, World Bank and WTO. Recently the British people voted decisively to leave the hated European Union . President KIM IL SUNG condemned the European Union in the days when it was called the Common Market

 pointing out that

 "The “European Common Market”, the “integration of the world economy” and the like, loudly advertised by the imperialist powers today, all pursue the heinous, aggressive aims of strangling the economic independence of the newly independent states and subordinating these countries to their rule"

   Indeed as Britain prepares to withdraw from the European Union the teaching of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG on building an independent national economy are highly relevant to the British people. When some big power chauvinists and revisionists tried to force the DPRK to join 

the former COMECON but President KIM IL SUNG opposed this and upheld the banner of self-reliance and the independent national economy saying later that "It has become more clear today that our decision to build socialism by our own efforts on the principle of self-reliance and not enter the CMEA was quite correct"

   He defined the building of an independent national economy as ; " building an independent national economy means building a diversified economy equipping it with up-to date technology and creating our solid bases of raw materials,thereby building up an all embracing economic system in which every branch is structurally interrelated so as to provide domestically most of the products of heavy and light industry and the agricultural produce needed to make the country wealthy and powerful and to improve the people's living condition"

   Instead of trying to strike free-trade deals with countries such as the US(who will only exploit and plunder the UK through so-called "free trade") and lowering wages in order to be 'competive' the UK could take on board the Juche idea , the line of self-reliance and build an independent national economy  like the DPRK  .

   The example of Juche-based socialism ,which is the fruit of the leadership and teachings of the 

great leader President KIM IL SUNG  , is an inspiration to the people of Britain in their fight for socialism .The DPRK has provided people with the right to work, housing is provided at a very low cost or even totally free(one could only sigh when you contrast this to the recent headline about house prices in London going up even faster).Education is also free up to all levels which include university and post graduate study. School clothes and other things for children are either free or sold at 50% of cost price. Mothers with more than 3 children can work a 6 hour day but be paid for 8 hours. The retirement age is 60 for men and 55 for women. Free medical care was introduced in 1953 and buttressed by further legalisation in 1960 and 1980 .All treatment is including medicine is free and the state even pays travelling expenses to the sanatorium! Taxation including local autonomy tax was abolished in 1974.

Such measures have not been taken in all socialist countries nor in rich countries but have been taken in the DPRK because of the profound concern of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG for the people and the belief that the country should shoulder full responsibility for the destiny and well-being of the people. President KIM IL SUNG made sure that improvement of the peoples living standard was enshrined in the principles of both the WPK and DPRK. Juche Korea became the model of socialism for the world including Britain.

   Lastly, President KIM IL SUNG always supported the struggle of the working people of the capitalist countries including the UK for their rights and for socialism  for example in 1983 he said "firm solidarity with the working classes and peoples in the capitalist countries battling against oppression and exploitation by capital"

  At at time when many British progressives and communists had lost heart due to the frustration of socialism in the USSR and countries like the GDR ,Poland etc, the DPRK stuck to the socialist road  showing that socialism was alive and not dead ! President KIM IL SUNG met with  a delegation of the New Communist Party of Britain in 1990 and also with a delegation of the Communist Party of Britain at later date  as well as a leading British social scientist.  25 years ago on the 20th of April President KIM IL SUNG unveiled the Pyongyang Declaration "Let Us Defend and Advance the Cause of Socialism" which was adopted  by 70 parties . Now over 258 parties including 5 British communist parties .

  To conclude the revolutionary activities and teachings of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG are vitally relevant to British people today . The Juche idea authored by the great leader

comrade KIM IL SUNG lights the road of independence for the British people.

PRESIDENT KIM IL SUNG , STRATEGIST OF WORLD REVOLUTION -special article by Dr Dermot Hudson

                                    

The great leader President KIM IL SUNG always paid attention to the question of the world revolution from an early age . When he founded the Down-With Imperialism Union on the 17th of October 1926  President KIM IL SUNG clearly defined as one of its tasks that it should carry out the world revolution and build socialism and communism throughout the world .  Speaking to the foundation meeting of the Down -With- Union he pointed out that .
 "Irreconcible contradictions exist between the imperialists and people in the colonies  and these contradictions are sharpening  with the passage of time. Because these contradictions are antagonistic they cannot be settled by any kind of 'compromise ' and will only be solved when imperialism is overthrown"
   This not only trenchantly exposed the contradictions of imperialism but showed the correct road of struggle for the people's of colonial and dependent countries.
   President KIM IL SUNG put forward the line of armed struggle at the historic Kalun meeting in June 1930 at which he put forward the Juche-based line for the Korean revolution . At the Mingyuegou meeting in the spring of 1931 he put forward the line of guerrilla struggle for the first time.  He clarified that the armed struggle was the basic line of the anti-Japanese national liberation struggle of Korea and put forward strategy and tactics for organizing and developing the anti-Japanese armed struggle such as the type of the armed struggle, organization of a standing revolutionary armed force and establishment of a guerrilla base as a stronghold of political and military activity. President KIM IL SUNG in his speech underscored the need for self-reliance. Later the Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army(later Korean Peoples Revolutionary Army was formed.  The line of armed struggle in the colonies was a revolutionary one that trod new ground. Previously the theorists of the COMINTERN had considered the struggle in colonies  to a reserve or auxillary 
of the proletarian revolution in the imperialists rather than as an independent force in its own right . As late as 1951 the Communist Party of Great Britain was still talking about a "establishing durable friendship" between "British people and the peoples of the Empire " and "new fraternal association".
The line of Juche-based armed struggle put forward by the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG  inspired the peoples of the colonial countries in their struggle for independence . In fact the the World Cultural Congress in Havana,Cuba in 1968 praised the anti-Japanese armed struggle led by the great leader President KIM IL SUNG as an example to be followed by the third world people's in their struggle against imperialism
  During the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG ensured that the Korean people gave proletarian internationalist assistance the people of the Soviet Union and Mongolia. Later after liberation in August 1945 he sent the best fighter to help the Chinese Communist Party and People's Liberation Army liberate China from the bureaucratic and reactionary rule of the KMT.
                                   

  Whilst leading the work of building socialism in the DPRK President KIM IL SUNG paid great attention to the strategy of world revolution .  Firstly  he made sure that the spearhead of the world revolutionary struggle was directed against US imperialism the headquarters of world imperialism
and chieftain of world reaction. President KIM IL SUNG wrote many works arguing for anti-imperialist , anti US struggle such as "Let Us Intensify the anti-US, anti -imperialist struggle" , "The Great Anti-Imperialist Revolutionary Cause of the Asian , African  and Latin American peoples is invincible " and many other works. He agued strongly against the line of compromise
with US imperialism which was being peddled enthusiastically  by the modern revisionists who tried to impose it on the international communist movement . He pointed that " It is wrong to try to avoid the struggle against imperialism under the pretext that independence and revolution are important, but that peace is still more precious. Is it not true that the line of seeking unprincipled compromise with imperialism only tends to encourage its aggressive actions and increase the danger of war? Peace secured by slavish submission is not peace. Genuine peace cannot be achieved unless a struggle is waged against those who break the peace, unless the slave’s peace is rejected and the oppressors’ rule overthrown. We are opposed to the line of compromise with imperialism. At the same time, we cannot tolerate the practice of only denouncing imperialism but, in actual fact, being afraid to fight it. This is a line of compromise in an inverted form. Both have nothing to do with a genuine anti-imperialist struggle and only help the imperialist policy of aggression and war "
Futhermore he put forward an excellent strategy for world revolution  saying that "
"We small nations must unite and counter US imperialism’s strategy of swallowing us up one by one, by each one of us chopping off its head and limbs. This is the strategy small countries must employ to defeat US imperialism."
   I remember being most impressed when reading this in the 1980s.
  President KIM IL SUNG also analysed the problems of the transition to socialism and communism on a world scale and put forward ways to realise the victory of socialism throughout the world . He
pointed out that "

Where the proletariat has seized power in an individual country encircled by international capitalism, there cannot he freedom from the danger of imperialist aggression and capitalist restoration till communism is realized on a worldwide scale. Therefore, to win the ultimate victory in revolution, the proletariat of each country that has assumed power should consolidate its own internal revolutionary forces in every way and, at the same time, should be given the positive support of other contingents of the world socialist revolution and should cement true international solidarity with the working classes in all countries and with oppressed peoples all over the world.

Consequently, the proletariat that has assumed power in individual countries is faced with the revolutionary task of decisively strengthening and vigorously advancing the world revolution. The strengthening of the internal revolutionary forces and the victory of the revolution should be considered in their relation to the ultimate victory of the world revolution. In other words, the victory of the revolution and socialist construction in each country decisively strengthen the forces of the world socialist revolution, which, in turn, creates a condition decisively favorable for carrying out the revolution and construction in each country. This is the unitary relationship between the victory of the revolution in one country and the final victory of the world revolution.

The ultimate victory of the world revolution will be realized, in the course of the outbreak of the socialist revolution and its complete victory in many countries, and the gradual expansion, consolidation and development of the socialist camp."

 Basically the dictatorship of the proletariat should become a worldwide system. This  shows the remarkable foresight of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG into the issues arising in the world revolutionary struggle for socialsm . This provides wise teachings and guidance to the revolutionaries and communists of the world. Indeed had the lines and ideas laid down by President KIM IL SUNG been followed then socialism would not have been frustrated in some countries and the international revolutionary movement would been victorious.

  All in all the great leader President KIM IL SUNG should be remembered as the master strategist
of the world revolution.

FATHER OF JUCHE KOREA AND SUN OF THE PEOPLE -SPECIAL ARTICLE TO MARK THE 105TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BIRTH OF THE GREAT LEADER COMRADE KIM IL SUNG

                                     

The great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG was born 105 years in what was the village of Mangyondae(now a pleasant,beautiful and  charming suburb of the socialist city of Pyongyang ). He was born into a most patriotic and revolutionary family but unlike the leaders of the capitalist countries he was born into a a most humble background . Several times I have visited the birthplace of President KIM IL SUNG and saw the straw thatched house  in which he had lived in with his family. The house had no heating nor glazing and the utensils were very simple ones, indeed I remember seeing water jar which had been patched up several times. Unlike the rulers and politicians of the capitalist countries  President KIM IL SUNG was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth .
                                  

  From such very  humble beginnings President KIM IL SUNG went on to become the founder of Juche Korea and a world statesman of world renown who was regarded as the elder of the international communist movement as he met many of the great revolutionary figures of the 20th century such as Stalin, Mao ,Fidel Castro, Che Guevara , Ho Chi Minh and Enver Hoxha. President KIM IL SUNG was also the leader who humbled imperialist Japan and Yankee imperialism and put Korea on the map.President KIM IL SUNG's life spanned the century which is why his autobiography is called "With the Century ". His revolutionary activities spanned 8 decades and he was the longest serving leader in the socialist camp being leader of People's Korea from 1945 to 1994 , a total of 49 years which is longer J V Stalin (29 years) , Mao Ze Dong (27 years) and Enver Hoxha(39 years).
                                    

   President KIM IL SUNG was the founding father of Juche Korea. Indeed today's thriving and prospering DPRK is the most durable legacy of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG. When other socialist countries collapsed due to modern revisionism and lowered the Red flag , Juche Korea
stood firm as a rock in the raging seas of anti-socialism and anti-communism. Juche Korea raised higher the Red flag .It can be pointed out that Juche Korea existed for 71 years 6 months if you take Korea's liberation on August 15 as the starting point and  68 years if you take the foundation of the 
Democratic People's Republic of Korea . This is longer than the Easter European socialist countries that lasted for 40 to 44 years . The Paris Commune lasted only 7 weeks and there were shortlived
'Soviet republics ' in Europe which only lasted a few months and the Limerick Soviet in Ireland lasted only 12 days .Juche Korea is the most solid socialist country .
                                        

  Juche Korea was born of the hard and ardous anti-Japanese armed struggle. The Japanese imperialists were the most barbaric and oppressive colonialists who lorded it over Korea ,committing the foulest  and most cruel atrocities. They tried to wipe out everything Korean. The Korean people desperately need a strong leader, a revolutionary leader  who would unite them to win independence and deliver them from the oppression of Japanese colonialism . President KIM IL SUNG learnt that it was useless to expect the rotten and corrupt bourgeois nationalists to achieve independence for 
Korea as they indulged in empty talk and did not rely on the people.  The so-called 'communists " in Korea  were not better . These petty bourgeois middle class types indulged in factional bickering and mud-slinging , scurrying around to try and get recognition from the COMINTERN . President KIM IL SUNG realised that the struggle must be based on the people. He founded the Down with Imperialism Union with young communists of the new generation in October 1926 .Believing that the people were the owners of the revolution he authored the Juche idea , setting forth its contents at the historic Kalun meeting in June 1930 . Writing in his autobiography "With the Century "  he said of
Juche 
  "The principle of Juche that one should trust people as the master of revolution and construction and rely on their force is the very political belief that I worship most and this is precisely the motto of my life that enabled me devote my whole life to the people.  ".
 On the 25th of April 1932 he formed the Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army (later Korean
People's Revolutionary Army ) , a totally self-reliant Juche-orientated revolutionary people's armed force dedicated to fighting Japanese imperialism and securing the independence of Korea . During the early part of the anti-Japanese armed struggle guerrilla zones were set up and within them People's Revolutionary Governments , a new form of revolutionary power were set up. These distributed land to the peasants free of charge. Later  the great leader President KIM IL SUNG  the Association for the Restoration of the Fatherland. Korea was finally  liberated in 1945 thanks to the Juche-orientated revolutionary armed struggle led by President KIM IL SUNG .
                                    

   President KIM IL SUNG set about founding the new Juche Korea, a peoples Korea. He  saw to it 
that the hated colonialist ruling machines of Jap imperialism were smashed and feudalism as well.
Land was taken from the Japanese and rich landlords without compensation and redistributed to the 
peasants, the tillers of the land , free of charge .The new people's Korea would be based on Juche and totally independent . It would be no one's puppet and would not be copy of another country nor controlled by another country . President KIM IL SUNG defeated the Right opportunists who clamoured for setting up a bourgeois republic  and Left opportunists who thought an instant socialist revolution should be pursued without taking into consideration the actual conditions of the country .
President KIM IL SUNG taught that economic independence is the basis of political independence so from 1946 pursued the Juche-orienated line of the indepedent economy saying that "t "For complete national independence and sovereignty and for nationa lprosperity and development, one must build an independent national economy and thus firmly ensure economic independence."
   Not only did  follow the line of an independent economy but also he followed the line of 
building independent armed forces and an independent munitions industry . It was at Pyongchon that the new Juche Korea under the leadership of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG established its independent munitions industry . At first some great power chauvinists in a certain country told Korea that they should not establish its own armed forces nor have its own munitions industry. President KIM IL SUNG also insisted that the DPRK should not simply assemble weapons made by another country but should produce its own weapons . This idea goes right back to the days of the anti-Japanese armed struggle when the Korean guerrillas made the Yongil bomb. It had been hoped that the USSR would supply a hand grenade factory but for whatever reason this did not materialise.
                     

  Juche Korea under the leadership of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG pursued unique and original Juche-orientated lines . For example it carried out agricultural co-operativisation in it own way rejecting dogmas about mechanising agricutlure first . The socialist transformation of private trade and industry was also done in an original way and rapidly . Basically the DPRK completely socialised industry and agriculture making it one of the few countries to achieve this . The original
Juche-orientated ideas and policies of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG were opposed by
factionalists who were revisionists and funkeys of great powers in August 1956 . They schemed to overthrow the socialist system  and the dictatorship of the proletariat in Korea as well plotting to turn the DPRK into a pro-American 'neutral nation' . Although they were backed up by big powers who wanted to dominate and control People's Korea , they were soundly defeated by the great leader President KIM IL SUNG who relied on the people . He went to the Kangson (now Chollima
Steel Complex) Steel Plant and told the workers there the US imperialists , international reactionaries, revisionists and big power chauvinists had all ganged up against Juche Korea but they could only rely on the workers , the people . He appealed to the steel workers to produce extra 30,000 tons of steel over the planned 60,000  tons. The workers rose up with the Juche spirit, the self-reliant spirit and actually doubled production in one go producing 120,000 tons of steel.
  Juche Korea did not join the COMECON nor the Warsaw Pact. It never allowed the stationing of 
foreign troops on its soil . Today Juche  Korea is the most independent country on the planet as it is not a member of the IMF, World Bank, WTO, APEC  or EU . This is thanks to the great President
KIM IL SUNG who founded the Juche idea and built Juche Korea.Juche Korea became the model of socialism for the world . The Juche idea came to be studied by many people throughout the world. Well over a 1,000 Juche Idea Study Groups have been formed throughout the world.
   Because of the  example of Juche Korea and his role  in founding the great leader President 
KIM IL SUNG  is is deeply respected and seen as the guiding light and inspiration.The International Friendship Exhibition in the scenic Myohang mountains in the north west of Korea is symbolic of the respect of the world people for him . Here there aeea exhibited are some 36,000 gifts sent to the great Leader comrade Kim Il Sung by different people throughout the world,everyone from humble workers To state and party leaders has gifts exhibited there. You will see the train sent by Chairman Mao Zedong of Peoples China and the bullet proof car sent by Stalin as well gifts from the likes of Fidel Castro, Daniel Ortega, Col Qaddafi , Yasser Arafat, Sukarno and Allende. and many others. Various international revolutionary leaders have praised the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG , for example the  Comrade Fidel Castro Ruz former president of Cuba said he retrospect Comrade KIM IL SUNG staunch revolutionary, outstanding leader and great man known to the world who had devoted his all to the liberation of the country, human progress and the peace and welfare of the world people till the last moments of his life since he embarked on the road of revolution in his early years. Chairman Mao Ze Dong of China said "The fate of the world revolution and the international communist movement are on your shoulders, Comrade Kim Il Sung. I wish you long life and good health. This is my last wish”". Indeed the great leader President KIM IL SUNG is the sun of the world people.
 Today  the legacy of President KIM IL SUNG , Juche Korea is wisely led by the dear respected
